Practical orientation, internationalisation and intelligent use of resources are the focus of teaching and research at the system-accredited Hof University of Applied Sciences.
In the area of internationalisation, the university focuses on India, with water and energy efficiency having priority when it comes to the intelligent use of resources.
The wide-ranging and interdisciplinary range of studies extends from the economy and economic law right through to computer science and engineering. Thanks to textile and study design courses closely interwoven with the business, the Münchberg campus provides training that is one of a kind in Germany. High Franconian companies, too, benefit from the establishment of competence centres and institutes at the university. The key topics of the four research institutes lie in computer science, biopolymers, material sciences along with water and energy management.
The Institute for Continuing Education affords professional and managerial staff with national as well as international advanced training at university level; the ifw programme incorporates on-the-job Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, certificate courses, academic advanced training courses and seminars. The Bavarian-Indian Centre for Economy and Universities BayIND affiliated with the Hof University of Applied Sciences coordinates and promotes cooperation between Bavarian and India. Students with an interest in start-ups or founding companies are advised and supported by the Digital Start-up Centre Einstein1 at the university campus.

Am Institut für Weiterbildung der Hochschule Hof(ifw) können Sie berufsbegleitend
- einen akademischen Abschluss (Bachelor oder Master) erwerben
- Kompetenzen aufbauen, die mit einem Hochschulzertifikat abschließen oder
- Seminare und Weiterbildungskurse auf Hochschulniveau besuchen.
Die Lehrveranstaltungen sind praxisorientiert, interaktiv und multimedial gestaltet. Mit Fallstudien und Praxisbeispielen vertiefen Sie die gelernten Inhalte. Sie lernen von Professoren, Fach- und Führungskräften, die sowohl über theoretisch-fundierte wissenschaftliche Kenntnisse als auch über praktische Berufserfahrung und Branchenwissen verfügen.
