Profile

The University of Regensburg is a young university: Founded in 1962 as the fourth Bavarian state university, it will impress you not only with its wide range of subjects in twelve faculties and high-quality research and teaching, but also with its good student-teacher ratio. The modern campus university with its excellent infrastructure – all infrastructure is location on the approx. 150-hectare campus, which is landscaped with green areas – is located on the southern edge of the UNESCO World Heritage City of Regensburg. There are currently some 21,000 students studying here (as of 1 December 2019), including approx. 1,600 from abroad. The University of Regensburg is networked worldwide: It maintains partnerships with some 250 European universities as well as with more than 75 other universities throughout Asia, Africa, America, and Oceania. In addition to numerous English-speaking Master's degree courses, it offers several internationally focused and partly bi-nationally designed degree courses.

The subject-specific research and teaching is rounded off with extra-curricular offers: classical orchestras, big bands, jazz and chamber music ensembles, choirs and around 20 student theatre ensembles on a professional stage. These afford a wide range of opportunities for cultural engagement and social contact.

The University of Regensburg provides a number of orientation opportunities for prospective students.
